Visual Advocacy

The topic that I have chosen to write about in this advocacy project is remembering the traditional customs and religious practices of American Indians. What I will do is put together a slide show with A 6-photo & caption series, 6 – 12 cell comic strip, 30-second Flash animation, 5-page Web site, 6-slide PowerPoint using a variety of different resources that are available. I believe that the customes and rituals of the american indians have been forgotten and need to be reintroduced into our society.
In this project I will display a variey of different customes that the indians had and that they still practice today. I will also show how the indians religious practices are being threatened today by our society. I feel that our society today has lost our touch with the american indians. It is because of the american indians that we celebrate Thanksgiving. It is the indians that introduced eating turkey on thanksgiving and celebrating the holiday. So In conclusion my Visual advocacy project will reintroduce the indian customes and religious practices. There are still many tribes today that are being threatened for their land, whiche they have occupied for hundreds of years. I believe that people need to realize what exactly is occuring on this earth, because of the United States drilling in alaska and searching for uranium and making massive wells to drill for uranium on indian soil that is threating there safety and the safety of the generatins of indians to come.

You only need to do one of the project types not all of them. A powerpoint or anything else isn't required if you are doing a comic strip.
